Tell us about yourself!: Hi, I’m Kari Grant. I’ve called this area home since 2013, after growing up in the San Jose and Santa Clara area. Nature has always been my happy place. I believe deeply in its power to heal and ground us. These days, you’ll often find me with the Weird Moms Club 209, connecting with and supporting an amazing community of moms who truly mean the world to me.
Tell us about your business!: At Weird Moms Club 209, we’re all about building community for moms who are navigating the often isolating journey of motherhood. As a nonprofit, we focus on supporting and engaging women throughout the 209 area. Especially those facing postpartum depression, anxiety, or simply the loneliness that can come with becoming a mom.
I'm passionate about creating a space where every mom feels seen, supported, and never alone. For me, this work is deeply personal. Before starting Weird Moms Club 209, I felt that same isolation. I needed this village just as much as the moms we serve. That’s what drives everything we do, because every mom deserves a place to belong.
Tell us how it all started!: Weird Moms Club 209 began with a simple playdate and a dream I’d quietly carried for a long time. To create a supportive, welcoming space for moms like me who were craving connection and community but also felt like they didn't quite fit the mold. I shared this idea with another mom, and she immediately encouraged me to go for it. I didn’t have the confidence to do it alone, and her support was the spark that brought it to life.
Our very first event was on August 27, 2024. From there, things grew faster and bigger than I ever could have imagined. By January, I knew I couldn’t carry it all on my own. That’s when I reached out to the women who’ve become my closest friends. Kristen, Steffy, Stephanie, Jamie, Skylar, and Milli. Together, we formed Weird Moms Club 209 as an official nonprofit, and it’s been a labor of love ever since.
Who is your business for?: Weird Moms Club 209 is for any mom in the 209 area who’s looking for connection, support, and a sense of belonging. Whether you're navigating postpartum, feeling overwhelmed, or just craving community, you’re not alone, and you’re welcome here.
We host free events, meetups, and activities that bring moms together in real-life ways that feel safe, fun, and judgment-free. If you're a mom who's been wondering where your village is, we're it. You can sit with us.
