Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to start your business!: Originally born and raised in New Jersey, I moved to California in 1996, eventually got married and raised a family. In 2008, at age 35 I tried a yoga class at a local gym that changed my life. Prior to that I had never found such a discipline that was able to help me work with quiet in my racing mind. The physical fitness was just a fortunate side benefit to me. Once I learned about the truth of Yoga and Ayurveda together I felt like I had finally come home to the knowledge I've been seeking my whole life. Working with people using Yoga and Ayurveda is truly my dharma, my reason for being here, and the way I best express the love of the Divine that lives in all beings.
Tell us about your business offerings, who your business is for, and why you're so passionate about serving this client base!: Students and patients come to me for a myriad of reasons, but most are disillusioned or dissatisfied with the way they are being treated by their physicians or western medicine and desire to be empowered to take their health into their own hands. What I love most about working with people is allowing those with fear to embrace their own individual experience toward deeper harmony among body, mind, and spirit. I specialize in using yoga props so that ALL bodies, shapes, sizes, ages you name it - can get into the yoga poses being taught in class. I make physical yoga practice approachable.
I lead classes publicly, privately, and online. I specialize in private one on one yoga sessions for the injured, fearful, and inflexible. Additionally, I am certified in Ayurvedic lymphatic massage (Abhyanga), offered only in my office studio in downtown Modesto. Publicly I can be found teaching at my office studio on Tuesday nights at 6 PM. Online I can be found on Zoom Monday nights at 5:30 PM. One on one sessions by appointment only.
