She Is Loved: Meet Mimi & Kaci

About us: We are a mother-daughter team! I’m Kaci (the daughter)! I was born and raised in Modesto, left for 15 years for school and career and life stuff, and moved back here 5 years ago with my husband to raise my kids closer to my parents! My mom, Mimi, is one of the most remarkable human beings (and that’s feedback from everyone who knows her, not just my biased perspective). She moved to Modesto with my dad in 1979 to start a business and they have both enjoyed raising a family here and building community! I definitely get my entrepreneurial and community spirit from them both, and now they are helping me and my husband raise our kids here and build our businesses!
About She Is Loved: We believe in empowering women through thoughtfully curated experiences of self-care, celebration, and connection. We bridge the gap for women passionate about supporting other women by partnering with local women-owned businesses to put on events for all women in our community- because when women are supported, communities thrive, and we all rise!
How it all started: It started a little over one month ago when I had the idea and pitched it to my mom. I am a women’s therapist by day (and Mimi is a retired hairdresser, the original women’s therapist, lol), and so we’ve always been passionate about working with and empowering women- to feel good, to feel seen, to feel connected! We love a good self-care day: maybe a little movement, a bite to eat, and good conversation! We also love a good party: one with lots of laughter and good energy, yummy food and warm decor, but mostly parties where everyone feels comfortable being their true selves, where our human-ness shines and we all feel like we can relax and enjoy one another. This is something Mimi is amazing at pulling together on a whim! When I came up with the idea of She Is Loved and pitched it to her, in true Mimi fashion she said: whatever you need, of course I’ll help you!
Who is it for: She Is Loved is for women who enjoy self-care, connection, and celebration! It’s a community for women who are passionate about supporting other women- those who want to lift other women up, who want to recognize the human-ness in us all, and want to empower women to succeed in business, and in life. We all deserve to have safe spaces to connect, celebrate, and care for ourselves and others, and women everywhere deserve opportunities to feel seen and empowered. We hope you’ll join us in spreading female empowerment, joy and love!
