Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to start your business!: My name is Bless Marrable-Smith, and I’m a former educator of 17 years who took a leap of faith and left a steady, well-established career to follow what God kept placing on my heart: creating spaces where joy, connection, and community can truly be felt.
I’m a wife, a mom of three, a lifelong dancer, and someone who deeply believes that joy is not frivolous, it’s necessary. After years of pouring into others in classrooms and at the studio, I felt called to build something that poured back into women and families in a meaningful way. That calling became both Sweet Remix Cotton Candy and Her Hour Dance Parties, two businesses rooted in celebration, presence, and reminding people who they are.
Tell us about your business offerings, who your business is for, and why you're so passionate about serving this client base!: Her Hour is an early-evening dance party and social experience created especially for women, many of them moms, caretakers, and women in midlife, who crave movement, music, and connection without the pressure of the late-night scene. Her Hour is not about escaping your life but remembering yourself inside of it. We intentionally feature female DJs and women-owned vendors, creating a space rooted in community, creativity, and women supporting women. The music is feel-good, the energy is welcoming, and the atmosphere is a come as you are, whether you arrive in heels or sneakers.
Alongside Her Hour, I run Sweet Remix Cotton Candy, a premium cotton candy brand offering organic, dye-free, naturally flavored, vegan cotton candy. Sweet Remix is for families, schools, daycares, weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, and community events that want something nostalgic but elevated. I love bringing Sweet Remix to schools and daycares because it allows me to create moments of pure delight for kids while giving parents peace of mind about ingredients.
Tell us something exciting your business will be doing soon that we should know about!: Her Hour continues to grow with themed dance parties throughout the year, including seasonal celebrations, and special community collaborations. We have also expanded into Her Hour Littles, a movement-centered experience created for young girls to attend alongside their moms, aunties, grandmas, or trusted women in their lives, so they can witness what it looks like when women support one another with joy instead of competition. Her Hour Littles is about planting seeds early, teaching the next generation of young ladies that there is room for all of us, that comparison is not the goal, and that we rise higher when we lift one another. When women support women, we all rise together.
