Tell us a little bit about yourself and what inspired you to start your business!: Hello Everyone! I'm Valarie, and I'm from the Bay Area. I moved to Modesto to be closer to my family a bit over a year ago. I'm a previous spa owner, and smelling the scents from the essential oils that were used for services enticed me to go further and get creative with bath and body products. Over twenty years ago, I attended numerous bath and body-making classes in Point Richmond, where I learned the art of creating handcrafted products.
I eventually launched my own bath and body line and sold my creations through my spa. When I closed the spa, I put that venture on hold, although rebranding and relaunching the line is something I may pursue in the future. Years later, while still carrying that passion in my heart, I realized I wasn't in a position to recreate an entire product line. Instead, I found a new way to express my creativity through soap favors.
In 2019, my niece was celebrating her first birthday with a Luau-themed party. Just two nights before the event, I had a spontaneous idea to make custom soap favors. I rushed to Michael's and Jo-Ann Fabrics (oh, how I miss Jo-Ann's!), picked up tropical-themed silicone molds and supplies, and got to work that night. The soaps turned out beautifully, vibrant, fragrant, and almost good enough to eat! In fact, several guests mistook them for chocolates. Everyone loved them, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. That special birthday party marked the beginning of Pink Celebrations Soap Favors! A business born from creativity, passion, and a last-minute idea that blossomed into something truly meaningful.
Tell us about your business offerings, who your business is for, and why you're so passionate about serving this client base!: Pink Celebrations creates custom favors for every occasion, holiday, party, and special gathering. Whether you're planning a wedding, bridal or baby shower, birthday celebration, corporate event, or looking for the perfect gift for co-workers, friends, or loved ones, we can help make your event memorable.
What began with handcrafted soap favors has expanded into a variety of personalized products, including mini lotion favors, bath salt favors, lip scrub favors, and more. We work closely with our customers to create favors that complement their event theme. From colors and fragrances to packaging and presentation, we customize each order to reflect your vision. If we can't match a theme exactly, we'll create something beautifully close to it.
In 2021, we introduced our Organic Bath Salt Bar, an interactive DIY station where guests can create their own customized Botanical Bath Salt blend or herbal tea package. While our primary clientele consists of women, our products are enjoyed by everyone. Over the years, many men have purchased our favors and gifts at pop-up events for their significant others, mothers, sisters, and other loved ones, especially around Mother's Day and other special occasions.
Tell us something exciting your business will be doing soon that we should know about!: I'm excited to expand our collection of interactive DIY experiences! Coming soon are our Body Scrub Bar, Botanical Body Oil Bar, and other self-care stations designed to inspire creativity and relaxation. One of my favorite things is bringing women together to connect, have fun, and create something uniquely their own. There's something special about customizing products that reflect your personal style, favorite scents, and self-care preferences. These DIY experiences are perfect for a variety of occasions, including birthdays, bridal and baby showers, women's gatherings, and special celebrations. They offer a memorable, hands-on experience that guests can enjoy and take home with them.
